The 2009-2010 Campdraft Season culminated with the SCA Annual Presentation night held at the Albury Commercial Club, with over 140 Members and Guests from New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia who travelled long distances to attend. The evening began with pre-dinner drinks followed by a delicious three course meal excellently served by the Staff of the Commercial Club. After the main meal the SCA Championship Presentations began with SCA President Mr. Stephen Baxter welcoming everyone and sincerely thanking the Sponsors for the end of season awards ‘Landmark’. ‘Nungar Knots’ Adaminaby, Mavericks Rockhampton, ‘Horseland’ Wagga, ‘Baileyana Embroidery’ Cootamundra, ‘ Saddleworld’ Wagga, ‘K Bits & Spurs’ Woodford, ‘Nug Nug Ranch’ Myrtleford and Nick Taylor without their support this night would not be possible and we urge all members to support our sponsors. Mark Barton from ‘Landmark’ was invited to make the Presentation’s for the SCA Landmark Champion Maiden Horse Award which was won by ‘Cypress’ Owned and campaigned by Greg Hulm from Wagga, 2nd place went to John Wilson’s ‘Kaditcha Man’, 3rd was “Miss Demina’ owned by Craig Pollock and ridden by Craig and Peter Ferguson, 4th ‘Montana Leanne’ owned and ridden By David Reiter, 5th place was “Ables Milo” owned and ridden by Andrew Sheridan and in 6th place was Jack Birch’s ’Tiger Lily’. SCA Champion Novice Horse was presented a magnificent Nug Nug Trophy to Simon Dodwell’s ‘Excel’ 2nd place was Nick Taylor’s ‘Recall’, 3rd was ’Mobile Rebecca’ owned And ridden by David Murphy, 4th was Steve Haydon’s ’Classic Doc, 5th Trish & Harold James ’Tango’ and 6th was Warren Webb’s ‘Jiminee Cricket’ ridden by Stuart Webb. The SCA Champion Open Awards were next 1st place was Steven Hart’s horse ‘Commando’ who also received the ’Barry Bourke Memorial Trophy’ 2nd was ‘Excel’ Owned and campaigned by Simon Dodwell, 3rd was ‘Mobile Rebecca’ owned and campaigned By David Murphy, 4th went to Jenny Walliss’s ‘Strokin’, while equal 5th went To the Baxter Family’s ‘Willing’ and H & T James ‘Tango’. The SCA Champion All Round Horse went to the Baxter family’s ‘River’s’, 2nd was Simon Dodwell’s ’Excel’ closely followed in 3rd place by The Baxter family’s ‘Sam’, 4th was S & D Dodwell’s ‘Tassos Image’, 5th went to ‘Wandilla Acylip’ owned by Darren Jewell with 6th going to “Strokin’ owned by Jenny Wallis. The meal was completed with the serving of sweets, then it was on to the SCA Champion Rider Awards Presentation’s, SCA Champion Junior was Keith Brusnahan from Massey Vic, 2nd Place went to Penny Macintosh of Wagga NSW, 3rd Ben McEwin from Meadows SA, 4th went to Jessica Dodwell from Illabo NSW, 5th was Kelsi Hopkins and 6th was Brody Hopkins from Gumly NSW . SCA Champion Juvenile rider was Claire Baxter from Barnawartha Vic, 2nd place Laura Macintosh from Wagga NSW, 3rd Nikky Jewell from Gazettte Vic, 4th place went to Toby Collins from Maldon Vic, 5th was Olivia Laurie from Braidwood NSW and 6th was Ben Edwards from Broken Hill collecting his award was Walter Dell. SCA Champion Encouragement Rider went to Shannon Brown from Bridgewater Vic, 2nd Lyn Brown of Kerrie Vic, 3rd Andrew Sheridan, 4th Barry Taylor, equal 5th was Luke Jackson and Melissa Walmsley. SCA Champion Lady Rider was Trish Baxter from Barnawartha Vic, Trish also took home the ‘Nicole Goff Memorial Trophy’, with 2nd place going to Debbie Dodwell of Illabo NSW, 3rd place was Claire Baxter from Barnawartha Vic, 4th Melissa Job from Booligal NSW, 5th Kristy Brandon of Wagga NSW and in equal 6th place were Jane Jewell from Gazette Vic and Lucy Sellers from Hamilton Vic. SCA Champion Rider for 2009-2010 season Trophy Buckle was presented to David Reiter from Myrrhee Victoria with Runner up Champion Rider going to David Murphy from Beaufort Vic, 3rd was Steven Hart from Googong NSW, 4th went to Nick Taylor of Bullengarook Vic, 5th was Simon Dodwell from Ilabo NSW and 6th went to John Wilson from Branxholm Vic. All winners sincerely thanked the Sponsors and the Campdraft Committees for their hard work and especially the Cattle Donors throughout the Season, without these dedicated people Campdrafting would not be possible. The evening was capped of by the presentation of the Three Rivers Novice Series Trophy Saddle to Greg Hulm by Jamie Dowling representing Chris Cartwright of Three Rivers Saddlery, Chris has been a major sponsor of the SCA for many years. Members and Guest’s then settled in for an evening of socializing, catching up with old friends, dancing to the Music provided by Paul Gibbs and last but by no means least a big thank you to the photographer for the evening Mr. Maurie Goode, Maurie has lots of Photos taken throughout the evening to get your copy contact 02 60298796. |
