Southern Campdrafting Association Champions for 2007 Were presented with their awards at the Annual Presentation night at the Albury Commercial Club where over 130 Members, Family and Friends gathered, an excellent Three Course Meal was enjoyed by all followed by the ‘Coles Champion Horse Awards Presentation”, Coles have been a Fantastic Sponsor of the Southern Campdraft Association and are now in their Eighth Year of Sponsorship which has been a Major Boost to our Association, Coles Sponsor the Champion Horse Awards each year as well as part Sponsor for our Magazine and we sincerely thank them. Mr Jamie Dowling representing Coles was on hand to make the Presentation, ‘Coles Champion Maiden Horse went to ‘Hot Little Teddy’ owned and ridden by Greg Hulm from Wagga Wagga, Greg received a Magnificent Trophy made by Ian Johnson of Nug Nug Ranch, Runner-up was Wendy Atkinson’s ‘Tip Top”, 3rd went to ‘No More Fishin’ owned by Madison Baulch, 4th ‘Pablo’ owned by Peter Eade, 5th ‘Eskdale West Imaacre’ owned by Naomi Schofield, 6th was ‘Shadow’ owned by Sharon Nankervis. ‘Coles Champion Novice Horse’ went to Greg Hulm’s ‘Tax Evasion’ , Runner up was ‘Tip Top’ owned by Wendy Atkinson, =3rd place went to ‘Heckle’ owned by Trevor Boland and ‘Hot Little Teddy’ owned by the Hulm Family, 5th went to Wendy Atkinson’s ‘Magnum’ and 6th ‘Jiminee Cricket’ owned by Warren Webb. A special Award sponsored by the Australian Stock Horse Society for the Highest scoring registered ASH in the SCA Champion Novice Horse Section was won by ‘Tip Top’ owned by Wendy Atkinson who received a Reality Bronze Trophy and Rug. Coles Champion Open Horse was won by ‘Strokin Oakie’ owned by Jenny Walliss and campaigned by David Reiter; David was also presented with the Memorial Barry Bourke Trophy. Runner-up was ‘Willing’ owned by the Baxter Family, 3rd went to ‘A One Tasso’ owned by Simon and Debbie Dodwell, 4th Ian Hughes ‘Tom’, 5th ‘Knights Top That’ owned by Terry Hillier and 6th place went to ‘Hannaford Tea Party’ owned and ridden by Steve Hart. Coles Champion All Round Horse went to Lyn Kelly’s “Drummer’, Runner-up was ‘Strokin Oakie’ owned by Jenny Walliss, 3rd went to the Baxter Family’s ‘Sam’, 4th was ‘Magnum’ owned by Wendy Atkinson, 5th ‘Pablo’ owned by Peter Eade and 6th ‘Tax Evasion’ owned by Greg Hulm. This section of the evening capped of by Mr Jamie Dowling showing Coles On going support by presenting a Sponsor Cheque for the 2007-2008 Season, which was greatly received by SCA President Mr Stephen Baxter, who thanked Cole’s sincerely, this was to a resounding applause from a very appreciative Audience. The evening proceeded with the Presentation’s of the Champion Rider Awards, with the Presentation’s being made by President Stephen Baxter, Champion Junior Rider went to Tommy Eade, Runner-up Andrew Wilkinson, 3rd Ben Reiter, 4th Even Hiscock, 5th Kylie Stevenson and 6th Jessica Dodwell. Champion Juvenile Rider was Tom Hanrahan, Runner-up Claire Baxter, 3rd Jack Birch, 4th Dee Stevenson, 5th Justin Spicer and 6th place went to Trent Wilson. Champion Encouragement Rider was won by Lucy Sellers, Runner-up Glenn Hart, 3rd Jacinta Taylor, =4th Ivan Pell and Trevor Peel, in =6th place was Sally McLean and Garron Hartley. Champion Lady Rider Presentation was made by Lockie Campbell who presented the Nicole Goff Memorial Trophy to Wendy Atkinson, Runner-up was Debbie Dodwell, 3rd Melissa Job, 4th went to Trish Baxter, 5th Amanda Reiter and in 6th Lyn Kelly. Champion Rider was won by Greg Hulm, Runner-up Lyn Kelly, 3rd Wendy Atkinson, 4th David Reiter, 5th Phil Collins and 6th was Amanda Reiter. The Presidents Award for the most improved rider over the season went to a very surprised Campbell McPhee. The evening was capped of by the Presentation of an Engraved Pewter Mug for service to retiring Director Mr Lockie Campbell who has been a long time Director of the SCA, Lockie thanked every one sincerely as he said he had gained so many Life Long Friends from Campdrafting a sport very dear to his heart.
