CELEBRATING 50 YEARS
About Us           

The S.C.A. was formed in 1973, to provide Personal Accident Insurance coverage for competitors  in the event of an accident.

The S.C.A covers most of Victoria and Southern New South Wales as well as part of South Australia, and Local campdraft committees affiliate with the S.C.A and run campdrafts and schools under the NCCA & S.C.A's Rules whilst benefiting from Insurance organized by the Southern Campdraft Association.

All our clubs raise much needed funds for their local communities.

The S.C.A has seen a healthy increase in membeship and currently has over 1,600 full and 400 draft permit members, with an average growth rate of 12% each year.
Campdrafting is a uniquely Australian Horse Sport and a real Australian pastime in which all the family can participate and enjoy and we are now seeing three generation's of families competing.

A typical Campdraft Program today consists of a variety of events ranging from Junior 8 and under 13 years, Juvenile 13 and under 17 years, Encouragement 17 yrs & above (for those members who have not won a L, M, N,O or placed three times in these event), Ladies, Maiden, Novice and the elite of our sport the Open Draft.

The National Peak Body for Campdrafting is the National Campdraft Council of Australia, which the S.C.A. is affiliated with.

Competition Age Groups
Junior Competitors ARE:
8 years and under 13 years.
Juvenile Competitors ARE:
13 years and under 17 years

N.B: All Competitors under 18 years must wear Hardhats that comply with current Australian Safety Standards at all times whilst mounted. eg.3838
